Philippines have encountered a lof of disaster already, like typhoon sendong, frank, are just a few to mention which destroys a lot of property and taken life. I guess Filipinos have learned a lot from this and are now aware and updated with the latest news with the use of social media.

Social Media like facebook, twitter, blogs, are now used for disaster preparedness. This helps people to get updated with the latest news, provide tips on disaster preparedness, and posting of local number to contact in case emergency. Filipinos are now turning on their facebook and twitter on their PC’s, mobile devices, aside from listening to radio and watching news on tv.

Here are some of the sites where you can check for the latest weather update:

PAG-ASA Website

DOST Project Noah

You can also check for local contact number in your area, add ABS-CBN, GMA, or any local news on facebook and twitter to have an update.

Spread the news, and share update, let’s help each other and use social media for disaster preparedness.
