Pintados de Pasi Festival 2013 Schedule of Activities

Pintados de Pasi Festival is one the festival in the Province of Iloilo, and it commemorates the Cityhood of Passi. Pintados de Pasi Festival showcased the rich culture of the Panayanons, their way of life, and bring awareness to the people that Pintado culture existed during pre-Spanish era.

Passi is a fourth class city in the province of Iloilo in the Philippines, it is located on the island of Panay and can be reached by Iloilo – Capiz highway, within 45 minutes from Iloilo City and one hour to Roxas City.

Passi is a rice, pineapple, and sugar-rich area and the only component city and the largest in the Province of Iloilo in terms of land area, population and income. It is popularly with its slogan “The Sweet City at The heart of Panay” due to its vast pineapple plantations and annual output in fruit production.

Every year, Passi City celebrates the Pintados de Pasi Festival because they want to revive the culture of Panayanons through a festival and show the legend on how Panay was discovered by the Spanish conquistadors and how Passi got its name.
