The Feast of Black Nazarene 2013 will be on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. The Translacion 2013 Procession of the Black Nazarene at the Quiapo Church is one of the most well-attended fiesta in Metro Manila.
Here’s the Feast of Black Nazarene 2013 schedule of activities:
January 7 (Monday)
3 p.m. – Procession of replicas of the Black Nazarene
The procession route of replicas of the Black Nazarene will be from Plaza Miranda, it will turn left to Quezon Blvd., right to Recto Avenue, left to Loyola St., right to Bilibid Viejo through Puyat St., left to Guzman St. (Mendoza St.), right to Hidalgo St., left to Barbosa St., right to Globo de Oro St., right to Palanca St., and right to Villalobos St., through Plaza Miranda.
January 8 (Tuesday)
1 p.m. – Kissing of the replica of the Black Nazarene
7 p.m. – Vigil at the Quirino Grandstand
January 9 (Wednesday)
12 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Vigil
6 a.m. – Holy Mass
As a tradition, the Black Nazarene leaves the Quiapo church and returns to the church on the same day. Devotees either follow the route, or simply wait inside the church to greet the Black Nazarene.

Classes are suspended in the following schools: Manila High School, Victoriano Mapa High School, Apolinario Mabini Elementary School, Geronimo Santiago Elementary School, Ramon Avancena High School, Manila Science High School and Araullo High School.
“Regular classes will resume on Thursday, January 10, 2013,” the DepEd statement added.
Earlier, private schools Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Adamson University, University of the East (Manila), Mapua Institute of Technology, Far Eastern University, University of Sto.Tomas and San Beda College announced the suspension of classes and office work in their respective institutions on Wednesday.
“UE Manila classes in all levels on January 9, 2013, Wednesday, are suspended per the instruction of University President Ester A. Garcia, in line with the Feast of the Black Nazarene. All UE Manila offices will be closed on that day as well,” a post on UE’s Twitter account said.
For its part, Mapua clarified that it will only be suspending classes on that day, but not office work. “No classes on Wednesday, 9 Jan. 2013, for Intramuros campus only,” Mapua said on its Twitter account, followed by a separate advisory on its Facebook page which said that it will be a “regular working day for all employees.”
