It will be a very long weekend for us this Holy Week as we observe the season of lent plus the declared holiday.
Some are asking if April 4 (Holy Wednesday) is a holiday, but as of posting time, it was not declared yet. In the Proclamation 295 signed by Pres. Noynoy Aquino, Maundy Thursday (April 5) and Good Friday (April 6) were among the regular holidays in the Philippines. April 7, Black Saturday is also a special non-working as declared in the Proclamation No. 360 . April 8 is Easter Sunday. April 9, Monday was also declared a holiday to commemorate Araw ng Kagitingan or Day of Valor which marks the greatness of Filipino fighters during World War II.
So, it will be long weekend for everyone, for those who are planning where to spend their holy week, you will have a lot of time to plan your get away, and summer vacation. Have a Happy Long Weekend, but don’t forget to observe the Holy Week and take time to reflect on Christ’s death.
