This is my first time to visit Estancia, Iloilo during the PSITS-WV 13th IT Congress. I take this chance to explore some places to feature it on my blog so that the time i spent visiting the place which take almost 4 hours can be paid off. And i am not sure if how long will i be back again on this place.
Estancia is a 2nd class municipality in the 5th District Province of Iloilo, Philippines. Estancia is located in the northern part of the Iloilo Province approximately 135 kilometers from the capital of the province Iloilo City.It is known around the country as a center for commercial fishing, so much so that it carries the name “Alaska of the Philippines” as a testament to its bountiful marine resources. It is also known in its PANAGAT Festival, a tribute to fishermen of Estancia. It is a celebration that calls for ultimate cooperation and soul of “Bayanihan” among their neighboring town.
There are lots of tourist destination and one of them is the Pa-on Beach Club, this is the place where i stayed. The Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College Estancia Campus is also situated here. This is just a small information i got for the short time i stayed there.
Estancia is also known for having one of the best seafood markets in the Philippines, and is popular in their dried fish products. Market day is every Tuesday.
How to get there? From Iloilo City, you have to ride a bus or a van from Tagbak Terminal going to Estancia, the fare is around Php 150.00, Travel time is more or less 4 hours depending on road condition, you may start counting the number of Municipalities you will be passing by before you can get there.
I am just curious if there are also night life in Estancia, well there is… There are KTV Bars operating, thanks Highway 5 KTV Bar for the compliment.
