How to add a Profile Photo in your WordPress Blog Without a Plugin

As i customized this WordPress blog ramzkie dot com, i found out that my Profile displays a custom image (Gravatar). I tried to came across some other sites searching How to add a Profile Photo in your WordPress Blog. There are several WordPress Plugins to add a profile photo but as i installed it, it didn’t work on my theme.

As i check on the settings, discussion, there are installed Gravatar you can chose from, but there is no way to add a custom gravatar. There are some Tricks and Tips to add a custom avatar but it requires again a script to be customized and add to the theme’s function (functions.php).

What i want is to create a profile photo without installing a plugin or adding scripts. And i want my photo to appear on the Author’s Profile, and Comments. I found out that WordPress uses gravatar as custom images on Author Profile and User’s Comments.

I am not quite sure if once you register on a WordPress Blog, you are directly registered on gravatar.com. For those who has knowledge on this, i would appreciate your additional info.

Here is what i did, i know for WordPress Guru’s this is not new, but i would like to share this experience for those who are looking for this solution.

I go to https://en.gravatar.com/, and login using my WordPress username and password. Go to My Account and select Add an Image. Browse the image you would like to add from your computer. Here is what it looks like.

GravatarAfter uploading my image, i open my blog and it works. I have now my Photo on my Profile and it also appears on my comments.
